Isuzu Confirms Special Pricing for Bulk Orders Amid Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s Import Decision

Jakarta, February 27, 2026 – PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) has affirmed its commitment to providing special pricing for bulk vehicle purchases, responding to statements made by PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara regarding the availability of such discounts from domestic manufacturers. This confirmation comes after Agrinas Pangan Nusantara opted to import pickup trucks from India to fulfill the needs of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes Merah Putih).

Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s Procurement Strategy

PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara initially sought to procure vehicles – including pickup trucks, trucks, and three-wheeled motorcycles – through domestic manufacturers. The company expressed a preference for a wholesale purchasing scheme to secure more economical pricing. Although, according to Agrinas’s Director Utama, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, local producers were unable to meet this request, leading to the decision to import vehicles from India to remain within budget. Mota stated that Indian manufacturers, such as Mahindra and Tata Motors, were more willing to accommodate the demand for bulk pricing.

Isuzu’s Response: Bulk Discounts Available

Anton Rusli, Vice President Director of IAMI, clarified that Isuzu does offer special pricing for large-scale orders. “If you’re talking about extras and giving special prices, you can definitely do it. If you buy a lot, you’ll definitely be given a better price,” Rusli stated during a media gathering on February 26th. He emphasized that Isuzu’s pricing structure allows for discounts on bulk purchases, and that the company has a standard pricing model for such transactions.

Deal for 900 Light Trucks

Isuzu recently secured an order from Agrinas for 900 light trucks, specifically the Isuzu ELF NMR model. Deliveries will be phased according to the agreed-upon schedule. The Isuzu ELF NMR is a six-wheeled light truck designed for logistics and construction applications, featuring a 4HL1-TCS (Euro 4) diesel engine producing approximately 148 horsepower and 402 Nm of torque. It boasts a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVW) of up to 8.25 tons, a six-speed transmission, a robust axle, and modern features like Cabin Lock Warning, a USB charger, and a rear-view camera.

Price Structure Considerations

Rusli acknowledged that each manufacturer has its own cost structure, leading to variations in pricing. However, he reiterated Isuzu’s willingness to provide competitive pricing for bulk orders. “The point is that regarding price, it depends on each individual’s cost structure. Of course the answer will be different. If we are offered a price, we have a price,” he explained.

Key Takeaways

  • PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara imported pickup trucks from India due to a lack of favorable bulk pricing from domestic manufacturers.
  • Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia confirmed it offers special pricing for bulk vehicle purchases.
  • Isuzu has secured a deal to supply 900 ELF NMR light trucks to Agrinas for utilize by the Red and White Village Cooperative.

This situation highlights the importance of competitive pricing in large-scale procurement and the willingness of manufacturers to adapt to the needs of significant buyers. The outcome will likely be closely watched by other cooperatives and large-scale purchasers as they evaluate their vehicle procurement strategies.
