The Slovak hockey players entered the tournament in an excellent way, when they surprised Finland with a 4:1 victory in the opening match and showed good form. Slovakia will want to build on their successful entry into the tournament, but they will have to be careful of underestimating against a tough opponent.
The Italians put on a fighting performance against strong Sweden, but eventually lost 2:5. Despite the loss, they showed commitment and support from the home fans.
