Weather Forecast
Heavy rainfall is forecast for Thursday, February 19, 2026, with localized showers and/or thunderstorms, particularly in the central-western Apennine sector and the western plain. Strong gale-force southern winds (75-88 km/h) are expected across the entire Apennine belt, with potential for reinforcements or higher gusts. Moderate gale-force winds (62 – 74 km/h) from the southern quadrants, with possible stronger gusts, are anticipated in the central-eastern plain and along the coast.
Potential Impacts
The forecasted rainfall may lead to localized landslide phenomena, runoff on slopes, and rapid increases in water levels in waterways, potentially exceeding threshold 1. Exceeding threshold 2 cannot be ruled out in some areas. Sea conditions along the coast may generate localized marine ingression and coastal erosion, especially in the central-northern sector.
