Currently, the record for the largest attendance at a boxing event is 135,132, set in 1941 when Tony Zale and Billy Pryor fought at Juneau Park in Milwaukee.iVB CEO Ed Pereira stated, “This world-record attempt will belong to San francisco. It belongs to its fans, its fighters and its communities.” He further emphasized the alignment between San Francisco’s community focus and iVB’s vision for fan-centric boxing.
Recent reports speculated that the event would feature a highly anticipated bout between heavyweight champions Oleksandr Usyk (WBA, IBF, and WBC) and Deontay Wilder. However, sources at BBC Sport have confirmed that no agreement is currently in place for this fight to occur at the San Francisco event.
