JAB AI Launches App Combining Martial Arts Training Games With Computer Vision Scoring

JAB AI has launched a new martial arts training application on iOS that uses computer vision to track strikes, score sparring rounds, and grade user technique across ten combat sports, according to a report on apps.apple.com. The software targets practitioners of boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, judo, karate, taekwondo, and sambo.

Video Analysis and Move Tracking Capabilities

The application allows users to film or upload training rounds lasting up to 90 seconds, covering pad work, bag work, shadowboxing, and sparring. During recording, the software provides live counts for specific strikes and movements, including jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, kicks, knees, elbows, teeps, and level changes. After a session, the system generates a numerical score, a replay tracking graded moments, and coach notes detailing strengths, areas for improvement, habits to build, and recommended drills with timers. Every evaluated round produces a shareable rank card.

Platform Offers Lessons for Multiple Martial Arts

The platform includes 111 lessons spread across 24 structured programs designed for boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and wrestling. Each lesson starts with a tutorial video, moves to timed rounds with audio cues, and concludes with a three-round camera test. Users strike pads positioned for virtual opponents, react to incoming attacks, maintain stances, and complete repetitions while the app tracks shot placement round by round. Initial onboarding collects user goals and experience levels to recommend a starting program.

Avatars and Nutrition Tools Track User Progress

Users progress through a 3D fighter avatar system spanning ranks from Rookie to Undisputed. Experience points accumulate through lessons, training rounds, arcade games, and logged meals. Leveling up triggers gear drops ranging from hand wraps to virtual championship belts, alongside daily tasks and a training streak tracker. A built-in nutrition module allows users to scan barcodes, photograph plates, or search food databases to receive calorie counts, macro breakdowns, and A-to-F plate grades. The system builds calorie plans around target body weights and tracks morning weigh-ins using seven-day rolling averages.

Pro Subscription Unlocks Full AI Coach Features

The platform offers a JAB AI Pro subscription tier that unlocks unlimited video analysis, full access to lessons and programs across all ten martial arts, unlimited calorie tracking, and unrestricted AI coach chat. Subscriptions process through Apple Account settings, with automatic renewal occurring within 24 hours of the current billing period’s end unless canceled at least 24 hours prior. According to the app store listing, all scores, feedback, and calorie metrics generated by the software are automated estimates rather than medical or nutrition advice, and developers advise consulting a physician before beginning new training or diet regimens.
