Jakarta Composite Index Adds 7 Points in Quiet Trading
In Southeast Asia, Indonesian equities finished the trading session slightly higher. According to trading data, the benchmark Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) added 7 points, or 0.11%, to close at 6,525.
France CAC 40 Reaches New All-Time High Led by Energy and Materials
In Europe, French equities finished higher at the close of trade on Monday, driven by strong performances in the oil and gas, consumer goods, and basic materials sectors, according to data from Investing.com. The CAC 40 index added 0.13% to hit a new all-time high, while a secondary regional index added 0.06%.
Leading the winners on the CAC 40, ArcelorMittal SA rose 1.97%, or 1.24 points, to trade at 64.22 at the close. TotalEnergies SE added 1.96%, or 1.45 points, to end at 75.54, while Stellantis NV gained 1.75%, or 0.08 points, closing at 4.88 in late trade. Conversely, the worst performers included Orange SA, which fell 2.01% to 16.13; Veolia Environnement VE SA, which declined 1.76% to 34.57; and Publicis Groupe SA, which dropped 1.40% to 98.60.
SBF 120 Movers and Commodity Market Movements
On the broader SBF 120 index, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA led the top performers with a 3.05% gain to 203.00, followed by Valneva up 2.82% to 2.33, and Eramet SA rising 2.25% to 48.26. On the downside, Worldline SA dropped 4.76% to 12.00, Ipsos lost 3.49% to 38.68, and Virbac SA fell 3.19% to 334.00. Overall, declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 175, with 93 ending unchanged.

Market volatility remained a key focus as the CAC 40 VIX, measuring implied volatility of CAC 40 options, remained unchanged at 18.96, marking a new 52-week high, according to Investing.com data. In commodities, futures for December delivery increased by 0.42%, adding $18.55 to reach $4,418.25 a troy ounce. Crude oil also advanced significantly; September delivery rose 3.48% to $80.90 a barrel, while the October contract climbed 3.46% to trade at $86.44 a barrel. Currency markets showed the EUR/USD essentially unchanged at 1.16, the EUR/GBP steady at 0.85, and the index up 0.16% at 99.58.
