Triumph Factory Racing Faces Setbacks with Rider Injuries

The Triumph Factory Racing team is navigating early-season challenges as both Jalek Swoll and Austin Forkner are slated to undergo surgery, impacting their participation in the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) season. Jordon Smith is now the sole rider currently able to compete for the team.

Jalek Swoll’s Achilles Injury

Jalek Swoll sustained a right Achilles tendon injury during qualifying in Birmingham, requiring surgical repair. This marks a recurrence of Achilles issues for Swoll, who previously missed portions of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross seasons due to an Achilles injury. Swoll indicated this latest injury affects his other Achilles tendon. RacerX Online reported on the injury and upcoming surgery.

Austin Forkner’s Hand Fracture

Austin Forkner will also undergo surgery after fracturing his left hand in a practice crash prior to the Houston event. The team anticipates his recovery will allow him to participate in the upcoming Pro Motocross series, where he is scheduled to race the TF 250-X. RacerX Online provided details on Forkner’s injury and surgical plans.

Jordon Smith Remains in Competition

With both Swoll and Forkner sidelined, Jordon Smith is currently the only Triumph Factory Racing rider actively competing. Smith recently achieved a 9th-place finish in the 450SX class in Birmingham. RacerX Online reported on Smith’s recent performance.

Triumph’s 2025 Rider Lineup

Originally, Triumph Factory Racing expanded its SMX team to four riders for the 2025 season, including returning rider Jalek Swoll, and newcomers Austin Forkner, Jordon Smith, and Stilez Robertson. NBC Sports initially announced the expanded team roster in October 2024. SuperMotocross.com also covered the team announcement.

Team Expansion and Previous Season

The team’s expansion followed a successful 2024 season, where Jalek Swoll secured the first Monster Energy AMA Supercross heat win and AMA Pro Motocross podium for the TF 250-X. SuperMotocross.com highlighted Swoll’s achievements in the previous season.
