Jane Ellen Macha (1962-2025)

Jane Ellen (Wagner) Macha,63,of Wichita Falls,Texas,passed away at her home on December 28,2025,after a nearly seven-year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. She faced her illness with inspiration, determination, and grace.

Jane was born on February 15,1962,in La Porte,indiana,to William Alfred and Karen Ruth (Moser) Wagner. She was the youngest of five children. Her father passed away in 1975 when she was 13. In 1983, her mother married Don A. Hamlin.

Jane married Barry Louis macha on April 28, 1990, at Our Lady Queen of Peace (OLQP) Catholic Church in Wichita Falls.

A family visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, january 2, 2026, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at OLQP, with the Vrey Reverend Kyle Walterscheid officiating. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Jane is survived by her husband, Barry; their daughter, Hannah Jean (“Scout”) macha; her mother, Karen Hamlin; sisters Ann (Chuck) Bentley of Knoxville, Tennessee, Mary Sheppard of Richardson, Texas, and Susan (John) walsh of Peoria, Arizona; stepsisters Kathy (Dan) Miner and Mary (George) Wetherill; stepbrothers Mark, John (Kim), and Matt (Tamara) Hamlin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her best friend from Midwestern State University (MSU), Andrea Nichols, and her dog, Menno.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Alfred Wagner, her stepfather, Don A. Hamlin,her son,Eric Joseph Macha,her brother,William Alfred (“Bill”) wagner,Jr., and stepbrothers Mike Hamlin.
