Jang Se-yoon Continues Judo Dominance, Secures Second National Team Selection in 2026

Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province – Jang Se-yoon of the KH Group Feelux Judo Team has once again proven her prowess, winning the gold medal in the women’s -52kg competition at the 2026 National Team 2nd Selection held on March 17th. This victory follows her success in the first selection round, solidifying her position as a leading contender for international competitions, including the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

National Team Selection Results

The KH Group Feelux Judo Team demonstrated strong performance at the national team selection event. In addition to Jang Se-yoon’s gold medal in the women’s -52kg class, Lee Seung-yeop secured a silver medal in the men’s +100kg class.

Jang Se-yoon’s Path to Gold

Jang Se-yoon advanced to the semifinals with decisive wins over Nam-joo Kim (Yongin University) in the round of 16 and Seong-won Kim (Korea National Sport University) in the quarterfinals. She then secured her place in the final with a victory over Kim Ji-yeon (Donghae City Hall), before ultimately defeating Baek Ji-ho (Korea National Sport University) with three consecutive valid points to claim the gold medal.

This win marks a continued streak of success for Jang Se-yoon, who also won both the first and second rounds of the 2025 national team selection competition. She has now won all crowns for two consecutive years, demonstrating consistent dominance in the national arena. MK.co.kr

Lee Seung-yeop’s Silver Medal Performance

Lee Seung-yeop also showcased impressive skill throughout the competition in the +100kg class. He defeated Lee Yoon-jae (Gimcheon National University) in the round of 16 and Kim Doo-yong (Busan Metropolitan City Hall) in the quarterfinals. After a close semifinal win against Jae-gu Yoon (Pohang City Hall), he reached the final, where he faced Kim Min-jong (Yangpyeong County Office) but ultimately lost in overtime, earning a silver medal.

Looking Ahead

Following the competition, Jang Se-yoon expressed her determination to continue improving, stating, “I am not satisfied with this result and will do my best to prepare until the end so that I can achieve good results at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.”
