Jang Woojin and Shin Yubin Advance at WTT Singapore Smash 2026
Seoul, South Korea – February 22, 2026 – Leading Korean table tennis players Jang Woojin and Shin Yubin secured victories in the first round of the World Table Tennis (WTT) Singapore Smash main draw. Both athletes demonstrated strong performances, advancing to the next stage of the competition.
Jang Woojin Dominates Wen Ruibo
Jang Woojin defeated Wen Ruibo of China with a decisive 3-0 victory (11-4, 11-8, 11-9) in the men’s singles round of 64 held in Singapore today. Footage of the match is available on YouTube.
Ranked 13th in the world, Jang Woojin convincingly won the first game against his opponent, ranked 25th, and continued his momentum through the second and third games to secure his place in the round of 32. He will now face Vladimir Sidorenko (individual neutral player) in a bid for a spot in the round of 16.
Lim Jong-hoon Also Advances
In another notable performance, Lim Jong-hoon achieved a 3-1 comeback victory (5-11, 11-3, 11-8, 15-13) over Korea Exchange junior Ahn Jae-hyeon, also progressing to the round of 32.
Shin Yubin Secures Straight-Set Win
Shin Yubin also enjoyed a successful day, defeating Jieni Xiao of Portugal 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-5) in the women’s singles round of 64. Like Jang Woojin, she is now set to compete in the round of 32, where she will face the winner of the match between Lea Rakovac (Croatia) and Chen Tongchuan (Taiwan).
The 13th-ranked Shin Yubin delivered a flawless performance, winning all three games against Xiao without significant difficulty.
