Latvian musician Jānis Stībelis and rapper Gacho, also known as Gatis Irbe, have released a joint single titled “Tikai tālāk,” offering an upbeat message about pushing through life’s hardships and personal losses. The track debuted across major music streaming platforms alongside a music video directed by Jānis Štāls.
Stībelis Dedicates New Track to His Father
Stībelis wrote both the music and lyrics for the new single. The song addresses moments when life hits hard, close relationships are lost, or familiar foundations collapse. Rather than focusing on surrender, the track centers on the resilience required to grit your teeth and press forward.
“Every person has moments in life when, figuratively speaking, life strikes, a close person is lost, or the existing ‘house of cards’ collapses,” Stībelis stated. He added that the song is rooted in the lessons parents pass down to their children through personal example, noting that the work serves as a personal dedication to his father.
A Long-Awaited Collaboration With Gacho
While the single carries Stībelis’s characteristic musical style, the collaboration incorporates a distinct touch from Gacho. Stībelis noted that he had wanted to record a track with Gacho for some time, finding a shared theme that suited them both and allowing the words and melody to emerge naturally.
Concert Tour Bringing New Material to Life
The release of “Tikai tālāk” coincides with the announcement of Jānis Stībelis’s upcoming concert tour. The tour will feature audience favorites and hits alongside new compositions from his forthcoming album.
“This concert tour will be an opportunity not only to look back at songs that have experienced various stages of life together with listeners, but also to introduce completely new musical material,” Stībelis said. “It is always important for me to feel the audience’s reaction — it is precisely in a live concert that a song acquires its true breath and meaning.”
