Japan Announces Women’s 3×3 Basketball Team for FIBA Asia Cup 2026
The Japan Basketball Association has announced the roster for the women’s 3×3 national team set to compete in the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026, taking place in Singapore from April 1st to 5th.1 A final training camp was held in Japan from March 27th to 29th before the team’s departure.
Roster and Staff
The team comprises the following players:
- Momoka Hanajima (178cm, 22 years old, ENEOS Sunflowers) – First selection
- Aya Tsurumi (165cm, 33 years old, MAURICE LACROIX)
- Mirai Takahashi (169cm, 24 years old, Aisin Wings)
- Sakura Noguchi (182cm, 25 years old, Aisin Wings) – First selection

Tournament Details
Japan is placed in a qualifying pool and will start their campaign on April 3rd against Singapore at 17:25 local time.1 They will then face the winner of the preliminary qualifying match between Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong China, and Bahrain. The top two teams from the pool will advance to the final tournament, which features eight teams.
The FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026 is a Level 9 competition, awarding 36,000 points per player.1 The winning team will qualify for the 3×3 CHAMPIONS CUP 2027.
Japan has already secured their participation in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Warsaw, Poland, from June 1st.2
