JAY-Z Celebrates 25th Anniversary of ‘The Blueprint’ at Yankee Stadium
JAY-Z marked the 25th anniversary of his landmark album The Blueprint with a career-spanning performance at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The Saturday night concert, part of a multi-day residency, drew a record-breaking crowd of 45,832 fans. The event featured high-profile guest appearances from hip-hop legends including Eminem, Slick Rick, and Pharrell Williams, cementing the stadium show as a milestone in the rapper’s live performance history.
A Night of Hip-Hop History
Kicking off the set with “The Ruler’s Back,” JAY-Z invited Slick Rick to the stage for a performance of “Children’s Story” and “La Di Da Di.” The setlist moved through essential tracks from The Blueprint and other fan favorites, including “Hola Hovito,” “Girls Girls Girls,” and “Song Cry.”
A significant moment arrived when JAY-Z acknowledged the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks—the same day The Blueprint was originally released. Following the tribute, he brought out Eminem for a performance of their collaborative track “Renegade.” JAY-Z then ceded the stage to Eminem, who performed his own hit, “Lose Yourself.” The evening concluded with a medley of collaborations with Pharrell Williams, including “Excuse Me Miss,” “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me),” “Frontin’,” and “Allure.”

Record-Breaking Attendance and VIP Presence
Saturday’s show set a new attendance record for concerts held at the iconic New York City baseball stadium, with 45,832 tickets sold. The event attracted a high-profile audience, with notable figures such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Dave Chappelle, Fat Joe, and Gale King spotted in the Armand de Brignac risers.
Additional VIP guests, including Ego Nwodim, Joey Bada$$, Serayah, and Pi’erre Bourne, gathered in the D’USSÉ Suite. Attendees were served specialty cocktails, including “CODE30” and “D’USSÉ Lemonade,” as part of the brand’s partnership with the concert series.
The Context of the Residency
This performance served as the second night of a three-day residency weekend. While the first night featured appearances from Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Nas, Alicia Keys, Memphis Bleek, and Jaz-O, the second night focused heavily on the legacy of The Blueprint. The weekend also included an official after-party at the venue “Out of the Ordinary,” where DJ and producer Chase B provided music for guests, including Lenny S and various industry figures.
