JDE Peet’s Bremen-Hemelingen Honored for Commitment to Training

JDE Peet’s coffee factory in Bremen-Hemelingen has received recognition from the Bremen employment agency for its dedication to training and development. The award highlights the company’s commitment to providing structured, practical training and fostering an inclusive environment for its trainees.

Exemplary Training Programs

The Bremen employment agency presented JDE Peet’s with the “Certificate for Training” on Wednesday, acknowledging the company’s exemplary training efforts. Joachim Ossmann, head of the Bremen employment agency, emphasized the company’s ability to combine global operations with a strong focus on local training initiatives. JDE Peet’s – Werk Hemelingen is located at Weser-Ems-Straße 1, 28309 Bremen, Germany.

Trainee Experiences

Corinna Schipor, a second-year electronics technician for automation technology trainee, highlighted the thorough preparation for exams and the supportive atmosphere at the plant. She is currently the only woman in technical training at the facility. Friederike Real, a first-year industrial clerk trainee, noted the welcoming environment she experienced from the outset. Fardin Wagner, a third-year mechatronics engineer trainee, is on track to complete his training ahead of schedule, praising the dedication of the trainers.

Focus on Inclusion and Retention

JDE Peet’s prioritizes attracting trainees from diverse backgrounds, including women, refugees and individuals with disabilities. Human resources manager Thomas Haas stated that the company aims for a near 100% retention rate of its trainees, with over 300 individuals trained since 1977 and more than 140 subsequently employed by the company. JDE Peet’s offers a wide range of functions across its German locations in Bremen, Bremen-Hemelingen, Berlin, and Elmshorn, including production, sales, marketing, IT, and logistics.
