The funeral of beloved French comedian Bruno Salomone took place on Monday, March 23, in Joinville-le-Pont, attracting a large crowd of family, friends, and fans. Among those present to pay their respects was actor Jean Dujardin, who delivered a moving eulogy and was visibly emotional throughout the ceremony.
A Long-Standing Friendship
Dujardin and Salomone shared a close bond forged over nearly three decades, beginning with their time together in the comedy troupe “Nous Ç Nous.” Dujardin expressed his grief on Instagram following Salomone’s death on March 15, stating, “My brother is gone…” Le Figaro reported.
Emotional Farewell at Joinville-le-Pont
The funeral was held at the Sainte-Anne church in Polangis, with the procession arriving around nine in the morning. Le Figaro noted that Dujardin and David Salles led the cortege, both appearing tearful. Salomone’s wife, Audrey, was similarly present, shielding her emotions behind sunglasses.
Dujardin’s Heartfelt Eulogy
During the service, Dujardin delivered a poignant tribute, acknowledging the widespread grief felt by those who knew and loved Salomone. “We don’t desire to say goodbye at all and I have the impression that we are not the only ones,” he said, his voice reportedly trembling. He pledged to continue celebrating Salomone’s life and legacy, stating, “On va continuer cette aventure [We will continue this adventure]. On va parler de toi, de ton ultrasensibilité, de ton talent [We will talk about you, your hypersensitivity, your talent].” Le Matin reported that Dujardin also emphasized the importance of keeping the “Nous Ç Nous” troupe intact, even including Audrey in their collective remembrance: “On était cinq Nous Ç Nous. On restera cinq. Et même six avec Audrey, ta femme, l’incroyable Madame Salomone [We were five Nous Ç Nous. We will remain five. And even six with Audrey, your wife, the incredible Madame Salomone].”
A Career Remembered
Bruno Salomone passed away on March 15 after a battle with cancer, at the age of 55. He was known for his work in both film and television, including his role as Denis Bouley in the popular series “Fais pas ci, fais pas ça.” TF1 Info highlighted the presence of numerous other French entertainment figures at the funeral, including Helena Noguerra, Isabelle Gélinas, and Valérie Bonneton.
