Jeff Jarrett Reached Out to Dixie Carter for Dark Side of the Ring Documentary, Despite Strained Relationship
Jeff Jarrett, revealed he personally contacted Dixie Carter to encourage her participation in the “Dark Side of the Ring” documentary, despite years of tension between the two, according to an interview with Chris Van Vliet.
Jarrett’s Efforts to Engage Carter
Jarrett, who served as a key figure in TNA’s early years, acknowledged the “strained” relationship with Carter, the daughter of TNA’s key investors, Bob and Janice Carter. Speaking on *Insight with Chris Van Vliet*, he stated, “It has always been strained, since before my first wife’s passing, I would say it’s been strained.”

He added that he believed Carter’s involvement in the documentary would allow her to “tell your truth” amid conflicting narratives about TNA’s history.
“There’s your truth, and there’s multiple people that are on the show, their truth, and then somewhere in the middle in there, there’s truth,” Jarrett said, framing the project as an opportunity for balanced representation.
Carter’s Response and TNA Legacy
Carter did not commit to the documentary, though Jarrett noted she did not explicitly decline. “She didn’t tell me no, but she never came through,” he said. The project, which portrays Carter in a critical light, highlights her role in TNA’s financial struggles and internal conflicts.
Jarrett, however, maintained a gracious tone, stating, “Today, I’m grateful for everything as it relates to TNA. Do I wish things would have gone differently? Sure
