Jeongeup Oral Health Mobile Classroom Visits Sosong-myeon

Jeongeup City is operating a mobile oral health classroom across 16 villages in Sosong-myeon from November 3 through November 20, providing dental examinations, cleanings, and preventive care to residents in areas with limited access to medical institutions, Jeonmin Ilbo reported. The program targets communities with limited access to dental institutions to catch oral diseases early and teach daily care skills.

Services Offered by the Mobile Dental Bus

Specialized personnel, including dental public health doctors and dental hygienists, travel to each village aboard a dedicated mobile dental bus. The team conducts examinations, offers individual consultations, and provides customized oral health education based on each resident’s current condition and home care routine. Preventative services include fluoride applications and scaling. Residents who require further medical attention after their screening receive guidance on securing appropriate follow-up care at an established clinic.

Health Official Statement on Reducing Care Gaps

Son Hui-gyeong, head of the Jeongeup Public Health Center, stated that the city will continue working to reduce oral health care gaps in medically underserved regions. She added that the administration aims to strengthen prevention-focused dental programs so residents can maintain healthy teeth and gums and improve their overall quality of life.

What happens if a resident needs advanced dental treatment beyond a routine cleaning?

Dental professionals on the mobile bus provide guidance to direct residents toward appropriate clinical treatment options when screenings reveal conditions requiring additional care.
