JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Jetour Sales Indonesia together with the Ministry of Transportation and the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) officially presented the results of an investigation into a traffic incident involving the Jetour T2 vehicle on the Jagorawi Toll road.
The investigation process is carried out thoroughly, objectively and based on technical data as a form of commitment Jetour to consumer safety.
The investigative hearing was led by Yusuf Nugroho, Director of Road Transportation Facilities and Safety, Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, and attended by various stakeholders.

Also present were the Chair of the National Transportation Safety Committee, Head of Sub-Directorate for Motor Vehicle Type Testing, Chair of the Motor Vehicle Type Certification Substance Group Team, representatives of the Bekasi Roadworthiness and Motor Vehicle Certification Testing Center, and PT Jetour Sales Indonesia.
“We appreciate PT Jetour Sales Indonesia for its quick response in carrying out investigations into the incident,” said Yusuf, in an official statement, Friday (13/2/2026).
“The purpose of holding this clarification is to obtain an explanation regarding the chronology and results of the investigation into the Jetour brand vehicle incident, with a focus on the vehicle’s technical specifications, safety systems and protection mechanisms against the risk of fire,” he said.

The car suspected to be Jetour T2 was caught on camera by Kompas.com at PIK 2Based on the results of the investigation presented in the clarification meeting, the vehicle safety system was declared to work in accordance with the design and standards that have been determined.
When a collision occurs, the airbag fully inflates so that passenger safety remains protected. In addition, the vehicle structure remains stable, does not roll over, and the doors can still be opened normally even when experiencing serious impacts.
This condition shows that the structural integrity and safety functions of the vehicle are running as designed and comply with applicable safety regulations in Indonesia and global standards.

The results of the technical analysis also revealed that the incident was a side collision, not a rear collision. The extreme impact caused the left front and rear wheels to suffer serious damage.
The impact of the hard impact resulted in direct friction between the bottom of the vehicle and the asphalt surface, which then sparked a fire and resulted in the vehicle catching fire.
Technically, Jetour T2 has met various international safety standards. These include ASEAN NCAP, ECE R153, ECE R34, and other regulations that serve as references for vehicle safety.
