Jincheon County Launches Campaign for Central Area Rapid Transit (JTX) Construction

Jincheon County, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea, is actively seeking public support for the construction of the Central Area Rapid Transit (JTX) line through a social media signature campaign running until March 29th, 2026. The initiative aims to highlight the importance of the JTX project, a key transportation network connecting the metropolitan area with central South Korea.

Campaign Details

Residents and the public can participate by following Jincheon County’s official social media channels – including Instagram and YouTube – and then signing the JTX signature campaign via a Naver form. Participants will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win a 10,000 won (approximately $7.50 USD as of March 18, 2026) gift certificate to Olive Young. Winners will be notified via mobile text message by April 3, 2026.

The JTX Project: A National Development Driver

The proposed 134km JTX line will connect Cheongju Airport and Osong, passing through Jamsil (Seoul), Gwangju, Yongin, and Anseong, including Jincheon County. Oh Jeong-hoon, director of the Military Future Strategy Office, emphasized that the JTX is a “core project that will drive balanced national development.” Jincheon County officials plan to submit the results of the signature campaign to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to demonstrate regional support for the project.
