J&K ACB Files Disproportionate Assets Case Against Police Inspector
Jammu, February 25, 2026 – The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against Vijay Singh Choudhary, an Inspector with the J&K Police, following a verification based on specific input received by the bureau. The case alleges that Choudhary accumulated assets far exceeding his known sources of income.
Investigation Details
According to a statement released by the ACB, the verification revealed that Choudhary, while posted in various locations, amassed assets amounting to crores of rupees. These assets are considered highly disproportionate to his legitimate income. The investigation further uncovered more than 10 properties, including houses, shops, and plots of land spanning 100 kanals, valued at crores of rupees, held in the names of family members, relatives, and others. Legal Action
Based on the verification findings, the ACB determined a prima facie case of criminal misconduct against Choudhary, punishable under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Search Operations
The ACB obtained search warrants from the Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu and conducted searches at multiple locations, including Choudhary’s residences in Santokh Vihar, Kaluchak, Jammu, and Nonial, Nowshera, Rajouri. Searches also extended to his business premises, a Stone Crusher and Tile Factory located in Tutte di Khui, Bajalta, Jammu. Additional locations in Jammu were searched under Section 185 of the BNSS. Political Fallout
