The Undertaker’s Fiery Entrance: Johnny TV Recalls the Terrifying 2010 Incident

At the 2010 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, a shocking accident occurred during The Undertaker’s entrance when pyrotechnics ignited his jacket. Now, Johnny TV, formerly known as John Morrison, has recounted the harrowing experience from his perspective during an appearance on the “Insight” podcast.

Morrison, who was a competitor in the Elimination Chamber match, described being in his pod, preparing for the match, when the incident unfolded. “I was in my pod locked. My coat off and I was trying to seem cool and Taker’s entrance hits and it’s the stoic, here he comes slowly walking and I see the flames go off on the ramp,” he explained. “He’s standing right in the middle of them and I thought that’s so cool until I was like, ‘Oh he’s on fire,’ and then I see him grab his jacket off, throw it down, and then take a few steps quickly and look around, and then back to character… I feel like I saw his face change from just The Undertaker walk to just being seethingly angry.”

Despite the terrifying moment, The Undertaker continued to compete in the match, even reportedly suffering from second-degree burns. Morrison expressed his admiration for The Undertaker’s professionalism, stating, “I was terrified when I got in there with him. Nothing but the most professional solid guy was there in the ring performing, that’s him. And kind of a nervous younger dude, that was me.”

Morrison similarly revealed that The Undertaker immediately sought out the individual responsible for the pyrotechnics after the event. According to Morrison, the pyrotechnician left the building immediately after the accident and never returned to work.
