Jungkook Reaches 12 Million EAS With Solo Album Golden

Jungkook reaches 12 million album-equivalent units with debut solo album Golden

Jungkook of BTS has set a new commercial milestone as his debut solo album, Golden, reached 12 million album-equivalent sales units (EAS), extending its lead among K-pop solo releases. The release maintains international market traction, accumulating more than 6.2 billion streams on Spotify.

Album-equivalent units combine physical record sales with online streaming activity. The 12 million figure does not represent physical copies sold. Released on November 3, 2023, the record hit 10 million EAS in September 2025 before climbing by another 2 million units.

Global chart performance

The album maintains chart presence across multiple international platforms rather than fading after its release window. On Spotify, Golden spent 153 weeks on the Weekly Top Albums Global chart. The release also logged 25 weeks on the US Billboard 200 and 8 weeks on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100.

Apple Music figures show the album appearing for more than 620 days on the Worldwide Albums chart and over 530 days on the European Albums chart. These metrics demonstrate sustained consumption across overseas territories.

Solo expansion builds on earlier single releases

Golden merges pop, R&B, and dance-pop elements to define Jungkook’s individual artistic identity outside of his group work with BTS. The project helped broaden his reach among international audiences following a string of successful pre-album singles.

Prior to the album’s launch, the single “Seven” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Subsequent singles “3D” and “Standing Next to You” also secured commercial success abroad, establishing a foundation for the full-length release.

Critical recognition accompanied the commercial metrics. Golden secured placement on year-end lists published by Rolling Stone and MTV for 2023, alongside wrap-up roundups by The New York Times and Uproxx.

Sustained appeal during individual K-pop promotions

The 12 million EAS milestone highlights how K-pop artists maintain commercial momentum during periods of individual promotional activity. The sustained numbers for Golden show that Jungkook retains a distinct global audience alongside his ongoing career with BTS.
