Originally stemming from a traditional inn, the distillery has evolved over four generations to become a renowned producer of fine brandies, gin, and, notably, Swabian Single Malt Whisky.

A History Rooted in Tradition

The Waldhornbrennerei Klotz began as a traditional “Waldhorn” inn, where the Klotz family first started distilling high-quality brandies. Today, the distillery continues this legacy, combining time-honored techniques with innovative approaches. The distillery is currently managed by Gerlinde Klotz, Jürgen Klotz, and Michael Klotz.

From Edelbrände to Swabian Whisky

While initially focused on fruit brandies (Edelbrände), Waldhornbrennerei Klotz expanded its offerings in 2013 with the introduction of “Buchenbach GOLD,” a unique Swabian Single Malt Whisky. This expansion demonstrates the distillery’s commitment to innovation while remaining true to its regional heritage. They also produce a fruit-forward gin, “Glen Buchenbach.”
