JustWatch Launches Streaming Service with Free and Paid Tiers
JustWatch, the company known for its online streaming guide used by 50 million people, is launching its own streaming service called JustWatch TV. The new platform rolls out across 12 markets, offering both ad-supported free content and a paid subscription tier. The company operates in 140 markets globally with a guide covering more than 500,000 movies and shows across 1,500 service providers.
JustWatch Expands Streaming to Multiple Countries with Content Partners
The streaming guide company initially announced its venture into streaming last month with partners like Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media. Users can now access this new service directly through the current JustWatch applications and web portal in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. Cineverse in the U.S., LEONINE Studios in Germany, SND in France, and Altitude in the U.K. are among the additional content partners.
JustWatch TV Plus Offers Ad-Free Tiers and Rental Discounts
The service features a free ad-supported tier alongside an ad-free option named JustWatch TV Plus. The Plus tier costs $3.99 per month or $49.99 for a lifetime subscription in the U.S., positioning it against low-cost competitors such as Roku’s Howdy service. Paid subscribers receive access to more than 300 ad-free titles in the U.S., advanced filters, the ability to hide previously seen or disliked titles, and a 10% discount on rentals in the JustWatch TV Store. A movie rental store is initially available in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
