TNI Accountability Following Acid Attack on KontraS Activist: Kabais Position Handed Over

Jakarta – Member of Commission I DPR RI, TB Hasanuddin, highlighted the handover of the position of Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais) in the aftermath of the case of throwing acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. TB Hasanuddin said that handing over Kabais’ position was an example of a leader’s responsibility.

“Gini Yes, as Kabais, who incidentally also has moral responsibility for what his subordinates do, like that, Bais ya members carried out the watering, a criminal act against activists. “We respect him by resigning,” said TB Hasanuddin to reporters on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Nevertheless, TB Hasanuddin said that handing over Kabais’ position did not immediately stop the ongoing investigation process. This PDIP legislator wants the mastermind who gave instructions to Bais TNI members to be revealed to the public.

“That is an example. If a subordinate commits an act, the commander, yes, as a form of moral responsibility, yes, then resigns. So we express our feelings respect-yeah yeah. But does the problem stop there? Not yet,” said TB Hasanuddin

“The investigation and investigation process must continue until we uncover out who the brain is like thatthe designer. The culprit, yes, is not the perpetrator, but the brain. “That’s the concept, so the order is given,” he stressed.

He hopes that the party who gave the order will be revealed to the public clearly. TB Hasanuddin wants the investigation into this case to target all levels of the TNI.

“It must be open publicly. It must be done openly. At the middle level or up to the Kabais, or maybe even above the Kabais, we don’t understand too,” he added.

It is known that the TNI handed over the position of Head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais). This was done as a form of TNI accountability following the case of throwing acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus which involved members of Bais TNI.
