Kanye West could have received as much as $20 million for two cancelled concerts in Saint Petersburg, according to Russian media reports cited by UNIAN. Local media sources indicate that the substantial payout covered both the rapper’s performance fee and his touring team’s operational expenses, though a local source claimed West would not pocket the entire sum.

Say Agency denies multi-million-dollar payouts to West

Anna Subcheva, head of Say Agency, stated that those multi-million-dollar figures do not exist and that nobody paid West such an amount. While denying the reported artist fee, Subcheva acknowledged that her agency suffered financial losses due to the sudden cancellation of the concerts.

Subcheva maintained that her agency operated strictly within legal boundaries following the initial concert announcements. According to Subcheva, her company, herself, and Kanye West personally faced a wave of online hate and negativity that she attributes to coordinated competitor activity. When asked about potential rescheduled dates, Subcheva offered a concise reply: “We’ll see.”

The Scrapped Gazprom Arena Schedule

Plans for the rapper to perform in Russia emerged in mid-August when organizers announced two scheduled concerts at the Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg on October 10 and 11. Preparations for the stadium shows advanced until a phone call from higher up forced organizers to halt all production and scrap the events entirely. Industry sources suggest West holds no contractual obligation to return funds to organizers because his agreement lacks a mandatory refund clause for cancelled dates.
