Global girl group Katseye has claimed the number-one spot on the US Billboard 200 albums chart with their third EP, “Wild,” according to chart data published by Billboard. Formed through a joint venture between Hybe and Universal Music Group’s Geffen Records, the multinational sextet reached the milestone in August following the album’s release, marking their first career leader on the tally.

The title track, “Hootie Frutti,” centers on a percussion-driven pop production featuring heavy drum beats and playful lyricism. The record’s production roster includes Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk alongside pop artist Ed Sheeran, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. Prior to its US chart performance, the EP reached number two on the UK Official Albums Chart, marking the group’s highest placement on that ranking.

Katseye was assembled through “The Debut: Dream Academy,” a televised audition program run by Hybe and Geffen Records. Following their 2024 debut in the United States, the group released singles including “Gnarly” and “Gabriela,” and earned a nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards in February. Their Billboard 200 achievement places them alongside fellow Hybe-associated and K-pop acts who have reached the top of the US album ranking, a list that includes BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, Ateez, and Tomorrow X Together.
