Heo Woong Vies for Unprecedented Seventh Consecutive KBL Popularity Award
The Korean Basketball League (KBL) has opened voting for the 2025-2026 LG Electronics Professional Basketball ‘Pocari Sweat Popularity Award,’ beginning March 26th and continuing until April 8th at 5 p.m. KST. The award, decided entirely by fan votes, recognizes the league’s most popular player.
All registered KBL players are eligible for the award. Fans can cast one vote per day for up to two players, with a restriction of selecting only one player from the same club. Voting is conducted through the KBL’s official website.
Heo Woong’s Dominance in the Popularity Vote
Busan KCC’s Heo Woong is aiming to extend his record-breaking streak, seeking his seventh consecutive Pocari Sweat Popularity Award. He previously secured the award for six consecutive seasons, starting in 2019-2020. This achievement surpasses all other recipients since the award’s inception in the 2011-2012 season. Fan Engagement and Prizes
The KBL is incentivizing fan participation with a prize drawing. Participants in the Popularity Award voting will be entered for a chance to win prizes, including large Pocari Sweat towels, TVING subscriptions, and Molten basketballs.
The winner of the Pocari Sweat Popularity Award will be announced at the 2025-2026 LG Electronics Professional Basketball Awards Ceremony on April 9th.
