Callie Cooke Lands Female Lead Opposite Keanu Reeves in Tim Miller’s Action Film

Rising star Callie Cooke, known for her role in Brad Pitt’s F1, is set to co-star alongside Keanu Reeves in an upcoming action thriller from Warner Bros. Directed by Tim Miller, the currently untitled film – previously known as Shiver – began production this week in the Dominican Republic, with plans to move to the U.K. For further filming.

A Time Loop Thriller on the High Seas

The film centers around a smuggler (Reeves) who becomes trapped in a time loop after a double-cross during a job in the Caribbean Sea. He finds himself surrounded by mercenaries and sharks, fighting for survival. Cooke will play a scientist in the movie. The story shares thematic elements with Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows, blending science fiction and survival thriller elements.

Expanding the Cast

Joining Reeves and Cooke are Nicholas Duvernay, Steven Waddington, Abraham Popoola, Bobby Holland Hanton, and Anastasia Safonov. Duvernay recently appeared in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus and Peacock’s Bel-Air, and is slated to star in Universal’s Reminders of Him and Amazon/MGM’s The Love Hypothesis. Waddington currently stars in Robin Hood for Lionsgate TV/MGM+. Popoola’s recent credits include Slow Horses and Atlas. Hanton is known for his stunt work in films like Now You Witness Me: Now You Don’t and Thor: Love and Thunder. Safonov appears in the upcoming feature Eternity and Floating Carousel.

Cooke’s performance as a pit crew member in F1 garnered attention for its portrayal of the high-pressure environment of Formula One racing. She also played “Esther” in the BBC comedy series Cheaters and guest-starred in an episode of Doctor Who opposite Ncuti Gatwa in 2024.

Ian Shorr wrote the script. The production is utilizing extensive water tanks in the Dominican Republic to recreate sea-based sequences. Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and John Zaozirny are producing, with Scott Lumpkin serving as executive producer. Warner Bros. Has set an August 13, 2027, release date for the film.
