Kena: Scars of Kosmora – A Deeper Dive into the PS5 and PC Sequel

Ember Lab’s highly anticipated sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, is set to expand upon the action, adventure and combat established in the award-winning Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Announced at PlayStation’s State of Play in February 2026, the game is slated for release on both PlayStation 5 and PC later in the year.

A Mature Spirit Guide Faces a Novel Threat

Kena: Scars of Kosmora features a more mature Kena, now an established Spirit Guide, confronting a formidable threat on the island of Kosmora. The game promises a larger and more expansive adventure than its predecessor, potentially leaning into open-world elements.

Enhanced Combat and Elemental Alchemy

Combat in Kena: Scars of Kosmora is being heavily revised, aiming for greater depth and strategic gameplay. Players will be able to utilize alchemy to manipulate the elements, adding a new layer of complexity to encounters. The introduction of elemental companions will further enhance the combat system, offering new abilities and opportunities throughout the journey.

A Fox Companion and Mountable Abilities

One notable change from the first game is Kena’s companion. Instead of multiple “blobby friends,” players will journey with a fox, which appears to be larger and can be ridden. The developers have indicated that Kena will acquire additional companions as the story progresses.

Availability

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is currently available to add to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store. A firm release date is yet to be confirmed, but the game is expected to launch sometime in 2026 for both PS5 and PC.
