Kevin Bacon Appeals on Instagram for Lost Shipping Package Sent to Ireland
In a video shared with more than five million users on Instagram, actor Kevin Bacon detailed a frustrating global mishap involving a box of his personal clothing shipped from the United States to Ireland, as RTÉ reported. Bacon, who is currently filming in Ireland, explained that he wanted to travel light and therefore mailed a trunk containing vintage items he has owned since the 1990s. The package took an unexpected international detour through Memphis, France, Germany, and Israel multiple times before finally reaching Europe and sitting undelivered in Ireland.
A Tortuous Journey Through Memphis, France, Germany, and Israel
According to the timeline outlined in the actor’s social media appeal and reported by Fox News, the parcel began its journey on September 26, leaving upstate New York directly for Memphis. By September 28, the box had transited through France and arrived in Germany. Rather than heading across the Atlantic toward Europe’s western edge, the courier service routed the shipment to Israel on September 29.
What followed was a repetitive cross-continental loop. The package traveled from Israel back to France, returned to Israel, moved to Germany, and was sent back to Israel. The Irish Times noted that the belongings embarked on an extended tour of Europe and the Middle East before finally arriving in England on October 11. On that same day, the package crossed over to Ireland, where Bacon stated it sat unmoving for five days.
Sentimental Clothing Value and Filming Schedule in Ireland
Bacon explained that the delayed parcel held genuine sentimental value rather than high monetary worth, containing old boots, faded jeans, and worn hats collected over decades. “I could buy some clothes, but I want these clothes. I’ve had these clothes probably since the 1990s,” he told his followers, acknowledging that he could easily purchase replacements locally as the Irish winter weather began to set in.

The actor is currently based in Ireland to shoot Summoner, a new horror film written and directed by Jeremy Slater, Extra.ie reported. The production features a cast that includes Stephanie Beatriz and Daniel Ings, following Bacon’s character, Jefferson Haddock, as he confronts a demon at an isolated witness protection property.
Delivery Company Apology and Resolution
Following the public appeal, the delivery company—which Bacon humorously referred to as a service whose name rhymes with “Bread X”—issued a direct public apology. “We got this wrong, and we’re sorry. Your package has now been delivered, but we know the experience wasn’t what it should have been,” a spokesperson for FedEx stated, confirming that representatives were in direct contact with the actor’s team to resolve the transit failure and review internal operations.
