Zelenskyy Imposes Sanctions Targeting Suppliers of Russian Missile Components
Kyiv, Ukraine – On March 10, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees imposing sanctions on foreign companies identified as supplying components used in the production of Russian weaponry, specifically the Izdeliye 305 air-to-ground missile. The move comes after Ukrainian authorities discovered foreign-made components within a missile that struck Kharkiv on March 7th.
Foreign Components Identified in Russian Missile
According to Vladislav Vlasyuk, the Presidential Sanctions Commissioner, the Izdeliye-30 missile, a development of the X-101 cruise missile, contains a significant number of components manufactured by companies from the United States, Taiwan, Germany, Belarus and other nations. Specifically, components from ST Microelectronics, UBlox, Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, and Integral were identified. The missile also utilizes a “Comet” navigation system with 12 patches, and includes American and potentially Chinese chips.
Increased Focus on Missile Technology
Vlasyuk emphasized the continued importance of missile technology in the ongoing conflict, stating, “It is a mistake to believe that the future lies solely with drones. After all, according to him, missiles remain a significant addition to the range of weapons. Further development is observed in this area as well.” He noted the Izdeliye-30 missile has a warhead of 800 kg, with at least 200 kg consisting of explosives.
Recent Attacks in Kharkiv Region
The sanctions announcement follows a series of attacks in the Kharkiv region. On the night of March 9-10, 2026, Russian forces targeted the Kholodnogorsky district of Kharkiv with drones, resulting in injuries to a 38-year-old man and causing acute stress reactions in a 58-year-old woman, a woman, and a 17-year-old girl. Damage was reported to residential buildings and a vehicle.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that over the past 24 hours, there were five battles in the Kharkiv region, specifically in the areas of Popovka and Liman, and near Novoplatonovka. In total, 130 military clashes were recorded across Ukraine, accompanied by missile strikes, air strikes, guided bomb attacks, and kamikaze drone deployments.
Sanctions Details
Details regarding the specific measures included in the sanctions decrees have not yet been fully disclosed, but are expected to target the identified foreign suppliers and restrict their trade with Russia. Zelenskyy signed two sanction decrees targeting the foreign suppliers, according to a post on the Euromaidan Press Facebook page. Euromaidan Press
