Russian Missile Attack on Kharkiv Leaves Two Dead
Kharkiv, Ukraine – A Russian missile attack on the city of Kharkiv on Monday, February 23, 2026, has resulted in at least two confirmed fatalities, according to local officials. The attack targeted the Kholodnogorsk and Osnovyansky districts of the city.
Details of the Attack
Igor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, reported via Telegram that the Kholodnogorsk district was struck by missiles, and assessments of the damage were underway. He similarly noted an attack on the Osnovyansky district and initially reported one wounded individual.
Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (OVA), later confirmed that the attack had resulted in two casualties, also via a Telegram post.
Mayor Terekhov urged residents to exercise caution as the missile attack continued.
