Ukraine Conflict Update: Russian Forces Press Attacks in Kharkiv Region

Fighting continues intensely in eastern Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv region, as Russian forces attempt to gain ground. Ukrainian military officials report increased Russian activity and a stated intention to advance on Kupyansk by the end of March. Russian Offensive in Kharkiv and Kupyansk

The 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports that Russian forces are actively attempting to dislodge Ukrainian defenders in the Kupyansk district. Nazar Voitenkov, a communications officer with the brigade, stated that Russian forces have a “definite plan to oust our units from our defense zone by the end of the month.” Source. Over the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 31 Russian attacks in the Kharkiv region. Thirteen battles were recorded north of the region near Volchansk, Staritsa, Liman, Peschany, and Okhrimovka.
