Mavericks’ Khris Middleton Fined $25,000 for Mouthpiece Throwing Incident

Dallas Mavericks forward Khris Middleton has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of spectator stands during a game against the Orlando Magic, the league announced on March 7, 2026. The incident occurred during the third quarter of the March 5th game at Kia Center.

Incident Details

With 6:55 remaining in the third quarter of the Mavericks’ 115-114 loss to the Magic, Middleton lost possession of the ball and, following a foul call, threw his mouthpiece towards the Mavericks’ bench. The mouthpiece landed in front of a courtside fan and near Mavericks assistant coach Jay Triano according to the Dallas News.

Middleton received a technical foul at the time of the incident. The NBA, through Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations James Jones, subsequently levied the $25,000 fine as reported by Sportda.
