King Harald V of Norway Hospitalized in Tenerife
King Harald V of Norway, 89, was admitted to Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife, Spain, on Tuesday due to an infection and dehydration, according to a statement from the Royal House of Norway Tatler. The monarch was on a private winter vacation with his wife, Queen Sonja, 88, at the time.
Condition and Treatment
The Royal House stated that the King’s condition is “good, under the circumstances” The Sun. He is currently being treated for the infection and dehydration at the private clinic located in the tourist municipality of Arona.
Previous Hospitalization and Medical History
This is not the first time King Harald V has been hospitalized for infection while on vacation. In 2024, he was hospitalized in Malaysia due to an infection and received a temporary pacemaker The Sun. He was later transferred to Norway and received a permanent pacemaker.
