Kings Dominion Announces 2026 Season Lineup with New Attractions and Celebrations

Kings Dominion is gearing up for its 2026 season, promising a year filled with new experiences and returning favorites. The park revealed a lineup of events, including a new water parade, fireworks celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, and live entertainment.

New Attractions and Entertainment

One of the most anticipated additions is SPLASH!, a water-themed parade featuring colorful floats, lively music, and interactive performers, set to debut this June [1]. The park will also host “Star-Spangled Nights,” a fireworks display commemorating America’s 250th anniversary [4].

For live entertainment, Kings Dominion will present “Pandemonium: A Cirque Extravaganza” at the Kings Dominion Theater, showcasing acrobatics, music, and immersive visuals [4]. “Bands in Residence” will feature a rotating lineup of local bands throughout the season.

Dining and Seasonal Events

Guests can look forward to upgraded dining options with renovated locations, including Dogwoods Fries and Sharkey’s Eats. Fall will bring daytime Halloween fun for families, alongside traditional scare zones, monsters, and spooky-themed food and mazes. A new attraction for the fall season will be announced later in the year.

Park Schedule and Rapterra

Kings Dominion’s 2026 season officially opens on Saturday, March 21. The park will be open for Spring Break from March 28 to April 5 and on weekends through Memorial Day weekend. Daily operation will commence on Friday, May 29.

The launched wing coaster, Rapterra, which debuted in 2025, will return for the 2026 season. Park manager Jennifer Schofield noted the positive reception the ride received last year, stating, “The way guests embraced the ride last year was incredible. We’re thrilled to continue building that momentum while delivering the exceptional guest experience our visitors deserve.”

Woodstock Express Refurbishment

The classic wooden roller coaster, Woodstock Express (originally opened as “Scooby-Doo” in 1974), is currently undergoing a refurbishment project [3].

Exclusive Event for Department of Defense Personnel

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, Kings Dominion will host a private event, “NDW Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary,” exclusively for Department of Defense/War personnel. Gates will open at 11 a.m. And close at 7 p.m. [1] and [2]. Ticket options include admission and parking for $35, or admission, parking, and a single meal deal for $55. Access requires a valid Department of Defense/War ID.
