Fire Engulfs Camper Vans and Building in Kopervik, Karmøy

A fire broke out in Kopervik, Karmøy, overnight to Wednesday, affecting multiple camper vans and spreading to a nearby building. Police received the initial report at 00:54.

Details of the Incident

The fire originated in a camper van parked at an industrial building. Due to the close proximity of other camper vans, the flames quickly spread. According to updates from the police, the fire extended to several vehicles and subsequently to the building itself.

At 1:15 am, operations manager Dag Steinkopf of the Sørvest police district reported, “Both the cars and the building are burning well and there are some bangs from the fire.” The fire service was actively working to extinguish the blaze.

Authorities confirmed that no individuals were believed to be inside the building or vehicles at the time of the fire.

Fire Under Control

By 1:40 am, the fire service indicated they were beginning to gain control of the fire and the risk of further spread was considered minimal. However, significant damage has been reported to the building and several of the surrounding vehicles.
