William Nylander Expected to Return to Toronto Maple Leafs Lineup Against Canucks
Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander is poised to return to the lineup Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m. ET, as per broadcasts on CBC, SNO, SNW, and SNP. Nylander has been sidelined for the past seven games due to a groin injury.
The forward confirmed his anticipated return on Friday, stating, “yeah,” when questioned about his availability for the game. Nylander currently leads the Maple Leafs in scoring with 48 points, comprised of 17 goals and 31 assists, in 37 games played this season.
His performance has earned him a selection to represent Team Sweden at the upcoming 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina. Nylander expressed his frustration with the time missed, stating, “Missed so many games this year, most I’ve ever missed, so it’s been very tough not being out there every night and playing. So, it will be nice to hopefully be out there tomorrow night.”
Nylander also noted the timing of his injury in relation to the team’s demanding schedule. “I feel like when the schedule started getting crazy is when I kind of got hurt. So,I had like two weeks off,I played a week,and now two weeks off. So, I haven’t really been in the thick of it yet, but coming back from Olympic break, I’ll feel it without a doubt.”
