KPK Arrests Pekalongan Regent Fadia A. Rafiq in Corruption Sting Operation
Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, resulting in the arrest of Pekalongan Regent Fadia A. Rafiq. The operation marks the seventh such action by the KPK in 2026.
According to KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, a number of individuals were secured during the operation in Pekalongan. “In this closed investigation activity, the team secured a number of parties in the Pekalongan area, Central Java, one of which was the Regent,” Prasetyo stated as reported by Voi.id.
Fadia A. Rafiq is currently being transported to the KPK Red and White building in Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, for further examination. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
Previous KPK Operations in 2026
The KPK has been actively conducting OTTs throughout 2026. Previous operations include:
- January 9-10, 2026: Arrest of eight individuals in connection with alleged bribery in tax audits at the North Jakarta Intermediate Tax Service Office.
- January 19, 2026: Arrest of the Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, on suspicion of corruption involving extortion related to project rewards and CSR funds.
- January 20, 2026: Maidi was officially named a suspect in the Madiun corruption case.
- January 19, 2026: Arrest of the Regent of Pati, Sudewo, on suspicion of extortion related to the filling of village official positions.
- January 20, 2026: Sudewo was officially named a suspect in the Pati extortion case.
- February 4, 2026: An operation at the KPP Madya Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, related to tax refund processes.
- February 4, 2026: Arrest related to the import of counterfeit goods, including former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Rizal.
- February 5, 2026: An operation concerning alleged corruption in handling a land dispute in Depok, West Java, leading to the naming of suspects including the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court, and a director from PT Karabha Digdaya.
Fadia A. Rafiq was inaugurated as Regent of Pekalongan in February 2025 according to Kompas.TV, and had focused on continuing existing programs in the region.
