KPK Seizes Hundreds of Millions in East Java BPN Office Raid Over Bribery Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized hundreds of rupiah millions in cash and tens of millions of rupiah in gold jewelry during an 11-hour raid at the East Java National Land Agency (Kanwil BPN Jatim) office on September 24, 2026. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators recovered the funds and converted jewelry from a room where money was piled across denominations ranging from Rp 5,000 to Rp 100,000, with officials utilizing a counting machine on-site.

Raid Details and Asset Seizure at BPN East Java

The search of the East Java BPN office relates to an ongoing bribery investigation concerning the unblocking of Summarecon land plots in Bogor Regency and alleged buying and selling of positions within the Ministry of ATR/BPN. According to Budi Prasetyo, investigators suspect the cash and gold were gathered by individuals from land service applicants. Investigators estimate the seized gold jewelry reaches tens of millions of rupiah in value, prompting authorities to examine why officials converted currency into precious metals. Alongside the cash and jewelry, search teams seized electronic evidence and documents.

Broader ATR/BPN Corruption Case and Suspects

The operation builds upon a sweeping corruption probe centered on the Ministry of ATR/BPN and Bogor Regency land administration. KPK previously announced eight suspects in connection to the Summarecon land block removals and job-peddling schemes involving rotations, promotions, and mutations. The designated suspects include Lampri, Director General of Land and Spatial Planning Control and Stewardship at ATR/BPN; Sontang Coin Manurung, Head of the Bogor I Land Office; Adrianto Pitojo Adi, President Director of Summarecon; Arif Sugiyanto; Fahd El Fouz (Fahd A Rafiq); private sector representative Rizal Pahlevi; Erwin; and Muhammad Fakhry.

Investigation Context and Record Seizures

Investigators continue to analyze the physical and electronic records recovered from the East Java office to map out illicit internal payments linked to land services. The broader inquiry previously yielded massive cash seizures, marking the largest monetary recovery recorded during an KPK sting operation. Authorities maintain that inquiries into internal promotions and land service kickbacks remain active.
