Latvian actress and singer Kristīne Lindenblate has launched a furniture restoration business in Norway, repurposing discarded items into retail goods while living abroad with her partner, Dzintars, 1188.lv reported.
Moving into the Garage Workshop
Lindenblate has taken over a garage space belonging to Dzintars to set up her new workshop, despite initial friction over the location. “I have occupied Dzintars’ garage, and he is very angry about it because cars are supposed to be repaired here,” Lindenblate said, according to 1188.lv. “But I have decided that I am a furniture restorer.”
The project began after Lindenblate spent time watching restoration videos on social media platforms. The online tutorials convinced her to acquire tools and begin transforming discarded items found for free in Norway into refinished pieces.
Preparing the First Showroom
The hobby has quickly expanded from a garage-based project into a commercial retail venture. Lindenblate told 1188.lv that the creative output has exceeded her initial expectations.
“A muse has visited me in Norway, and I have a lot of ideas,” she said. “They come and come and come, as a result of which I am on the threshold of opening a ‘Show room’ immediately.”
The upcoming retail space will allow her to move inventory out of the garage and welcome local buyers. She noted that the finished items will be presented in near-new condition.
