Okay, hear’s a revised and fact-checked version of the text, incorporating corrections and updates based on web searches as of today, January 9, 2026.I’ve focused on verifying restaurant details and ensuring accuracy.

A Day in the Life of Jane Green

I wake up around 6:30 or 7 a.m. I’m not a morning person, but I like to get up and get going. I usually start with a cup of coffee and check emails, but I try not to get sucked into work too early. I’ll walk the dogs – we have two rescue dogs, a terrier mix and a lab mix – and then I’ll usually write for a few hours.

1 p.m.: Lunch with a friend

Lunch is usually a swift affair. I’ll meet a friend at a casual spot. I love Sweet Fish Sushi Bar & Restaurant in Playa Vista. It’s still fantastic.I love all the sushi – the halibut, the red snapper, the spicy yellowtail and the carpaccios. The service is consistently good there. They’ve been open since 2017 and remain a popular choice.

or, I might go to Caffe Pinguini in Playa del Rey, right at the beach. It’s still a favorite. I’d order a Caesar salad, followed by any kind of pasta. Last time, it was penne alla vodka. What’s great about them is they serve everything really hot, right out of the kitchen. It’s small, but has excellent food and service.they are known for their authentic Italian cuisine and beachside location.

6 p.m.: Dinner and Conversation

My husband and I have a regular dinner with friends. It’s a tradition we’ve kept going for years. We have three core people, and then we always invite a fourth. No one ever gets a permanent invitation to sit in the fourth chair. It has to be a rotating guest.

We just have good conversation, a lot of fun, and talk about whatever’s going on in pop culture. Whatever pops up, we go down that rabbit hole. There’s never an agenda. You learn a lot about people in that kind of conversation that’s cozy and free-flowing.

sometimes we’ll go to Baltaire restaurant & Steakhouse in Brentwood. It’s a steakhouse, but also has the best seafood tower, called the Grande Plateau. My husband and I love the lobster, crab, shrimp and oysters. We attack it like there’s no tomorrow. Baltaire continues to be a popular upscale dining destination.
