This Saturday, February 14, a group of residents of the Laderas del Mar subdivision issued accusations for alleged administrative irregularities and an alleged attempted dispossession, in the context of the change of administration that occurred on February 11 in the private community, a day after other neighbors accused them of an alleged irregular takeover of the administration and the security booth.
Outside the condominiums, tenants reported having been “scammed” by Carlos Reyes, then the private real estate administrator and lawyer, whom they accuse of alleged mismanagement of funds and dispossession of assets.
According to Sandra Urbina Toro, owner of a property in the subdivision, she would have been the victim of an attempted dispossession by Reyes, who allegedly rented her apartment without her receiving any profits.
“When I entered the apartment there was no furniture; the tenant had left. The new owner arrived with his lawyer and the police, they took me before the judge and told me that I had to fix it through civil means. They asked me to leave or they were going to arrest me. That’s when my agony began to recover my apartment,” denounced the owner, who later recovered the property.
Toro also denied that armed people had entered the facilities or that the staff of the previous administration had been threatened or attacked, as has been noted.
For his part, Jesús Medina, representative of the provisional neighborhood committee after the departure of the old administration, commented that the change was made as a result of alleged irregularities in the management of the budget allocated to the maintenance of the buildings, as well as reports of alleged acts of violence between the Kings and workers.
“As far as I am concerned, I am faced with the presence of very bad practices on his part. Bad practices in terms of fraudulent administration. He does not provide reports, he does not provide clear accountability, what the money is spent on, how much he receives, he does not deliver anything,” said Medina.
In terms of resources, residents also questioned the payment of 9 thousand pesos per condominium for painting work in 120 apartments, which would represent an amount exceeding one million pesos.
Medina pointed out that, after requesting a subsequent quote, the same work could be done for around 400 thousand pesos.
Regarding the involvement of the law firm “López Ortiz y Asociados”, headed by Christian Pablo López, in providing legal advice to Sandra Toro to recover her apartment, neighbors indicated that they did not feel comfortable with their presence.
In relation to these allegations, Uriel Álvarez, who said he legally represented Toro, pointed out that López’s presence in the subdivision had the sole purpose of meeting with security personnel due to the need to reinforce the number of elements, and that there was no attempt to take possession of the place or acts of violence.
Regarding the company Centinela Seguridad Privada, a neighbor questioned that its hiring was not consulted with all the inhabitants of the subdivision and expressed concern about alleged processes opened against it.
“There are open processes in the prosecutor’s office, with number and name. That information is public. How can I say that it is not fraudulent? I am worried that the person guarding my door obeys a company associated with these processes,” he said.
For his part, another of the residents pointed out that the conflict responds to a dispute between Reyes and Toro and that, he stated, the rest of the residents are getting involved as a result of that conflict. In addition, he questioned those who managed these actions for alleged acts of threats towards personnel from the previous administration by López and his team.
