Lamine Yamal leveled Kylian Mbappé’s Champions League scoring record for a teenager on Tuesday, netting his 13th goal in the competition during Barcelona’s 4–2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 19-year-old Ballon d’Or nominee produced a second-half solo strike at the Parc des Princes, driving past makeshift left back Warren Zaïre-Emery before beating goalkeeper Matvey Safonov from a tight angle. Despite the defeat ending Barcelona’s unbeaten run for the 2026–27 season, Yamal became the first player across Europe’s top five leagues to record at least 10 goals and 10 assists this campaign.

Paris Defeat and Record-Breaking Form

Yamal’s influential role in Hansi Flick’s squad is highlighted by his involvement in 40% of Barcelona’s 50 goals this season. Prior to the match in Paris, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick described his winger as “the best player in the world right now.”

The goal brought Yamal level with Kylian Mbappé for the most Champions League goals scored as a teenager. While Mbappé reached 13 goals in 23 appearances for Monaco and PSG, Yamal hit the same milestone in 36 outings. Because Yamal does not turn 20 until next July, he retains time to claim the record outright before aging out of the category.
