Las Vegas Temperature Forecast and Peak Heat
Temperatures across the Las Vegas Valley are climbing steadily from a high of 99 degrees on Tuesday to 104 degrees on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday marks the peak of the heat event, with an Extreme Heat Warning scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Valley highs are expected to reach between 105 and 110 degrees, accompanied by an overnight low of around 86 degrees.
According to local forecasts, Friday will maintain the heat with a high near 105 degrees before conditions shift heading into the weekend. Precipitation chances remain near zero throughout the week, keeping the valley dry under mostly sunny skies.
Regional Heat Warnings Across Nevada, California, and Arizona
The National Weather Service extreme heat warning extends well beyond the Las Vegas Valley. Neighboring Moapa and Pahrump in Nevada are included in the Thursday warning zone.
The heat advisory also covers parts of Southern California, including Furnace Creek and surrounding areas. In Arizona, towns near Las Vegas such as Kingman, Lake Havasu City, and Wikieup are under the same extreme heat warnings issued by federal forecasters.
Weekend Wind Shifts and Cooling Outlook
Stronger winds will arrive as the extreme heat subsides slightly over the weekend. Friday and Saturday will see local winds running 15 to 20 mph in Las Vegas, while broader regional areas could experience gusts between 25 and 35 mph, with even stronger gusts possible in the western Mojave Desert, according to regional forecasts.
Temperatures will ease marginally on Sunday and Monday, with forecasted highs dropping to 98 and 97 degrees. Overnight lows will finally dip into the upper 70s by Sunday night, offering some relief from the mid-80s lows experienced earlier in the week. Long-range forecasts from AccuWeather indicate that more consistent below-100-degree highs will arrive in Las Vegas by late September.

The City of Las Vegas advises residents to take strict precautions during the height of the heat wave. Officials recommend planning strenuous outdoor activities for the early morning or evening hours, drinking plenty of water, and utilizing air-conditioned spaces during peak afternoon temperatures.
Residents are also urged to check on older neighbors and to never leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles, where interior temperatures can reach deadly levels within minutes.
