“The Chronology of Water” – A Cinematic Debut
“The Chronology of Water,” a 2025 biographical psychological drama, marks Kristen Stewart’s first feature film as a director. The film, based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s 2011 memoir of the same name, was filmed in Latvia and Malta during the summer of 2024. It premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2025.
The film stars Imogen Poots, alongside Thora Birch, Susannah Flood, Tom Sturridge, Kim Gordon, Michael Epp, Earl Cave, Esmé Creed-Miles, and Jim Belushi. Ridley Scott served as an executive producer. As of December 5, 2025, the film had grossed $362,839. It was released in France on October 15, 2025, in the United States on December 5, 2025, and in the United Kingdom on February 6, 2026.

Piano Recital by Mikhail Pletnyov
Legendary pianist Mikhail Pletnyov will perform two concerts in Latvia on March 28th at the Latvian National Theater and March 29th at the Dzintari Concert Hall. The National Theatre will premiere a concert production of “Talking to Me Again… Ilze!” from March 27th to May 31st. Liepaja Symphony Orchestra Honors Agris Engelman
On March 28th, the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert at the Liepaja concert hall The Big Amber honoring the 90th anniversary of composer Agris Engelmans. The program features Andras Vecumnieks’ Sinfonia G, based on Engelmann’s poetry, performed with the State Academic Choir Latvia and soprano Annie Christian Adamson. Royal Ballet’s “Giselle” at Forum Cinemas
Forum Cinemas will screen recordings of the Royal Ballet of London’s performance of “Giselle” on March 29th, April 14th, and April 21st. Starring Akane Takada and Matthew Ball, this production of Adolf Adan’s classic romantic ballet is choreographed by Peter Wright. Tickets are priced at EUR 15.
