Leadership Anne Arundel to Host 6th Annual Food, Clothing, and Blood Drive in Annapolis
Leadership Anne Arundel (LAA) will host its 6th Annual Food Collection Event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. At the M&T Bank parking lot, located at 170 Jennifer Road in Annapolis. The event provides an opportunity for residents to donate food, novel clothing, and blood to support local organizations.
Partnerships and Beneficiaries
LAA is partnering with the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, M&T Bank, UM BWMC, and Luminis Health for this year’s drive. Donations will directly benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, the Luminis Blood Bank, and the UM BWMC Clothing Closet.
Donation Details
Community members can donate healthy food and new clothing curbside during the event. Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Blood Mobile will also be on-site for blood donations. Monetary donations are being accepted online, and food and clothing can be dropped off at participating M&T Bank branches prior to the event. Organizers have identified several items that are in particularly high demand:
- Canned meats
- Peanut butter and jelly (in plastic jars)
- Boxed pasta and sauce (in plastic jars)
- Cereal
- Soups and canned meals
- Mac and cheese
- Baby food
- Healthy snacks (breakfast bars, dried fruit)
- Ensure and nutritional supplements
- Diapers and wipes
- Basic hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant)
Volunteer Opportunities
LAA is seeking alumni volunteers to assist with directing donors, collecting donations, sorting items, and loading them for transport.
Event Origins and Impact
According to LAA President & CEO Kris Valerio Shock, the event originated as a way to connect alumni during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since turn into a significant annual community service initiative. “We are proud to continue amplifying the generosity and leadership of the LAA community and look forward to surpassing last year’s impact,” Shock stated.
