“One of countless examples”… Share related SNS posts
On the 14th, President Lee Jae-myung criticized the controversy over the prosecution’s distortion of the so-called ‘Chung Young-hak transcript’ during the trial of the ‘Wirye New Town Development Suspicion Corruption Case’, calling it “(the prosecution’s) absurd manipulation of evidence.”
President Lee said this morning through ‘X’ (X, old Twitter), saying, “This is just one of countless cases.” President Lee also shared another post containing the content that the transcript had been manipulated.
On the 5th, when the prosecution gave up on appealing this case, President Lee said, “They even altered the Daejang-dong transcript from ‘a story about Wirye New Town’ to ‘a story about the elder above’ and submitted it as evidence to try to implicate me in a case that has no legal basis.”
Previously, in the trial of the case, a transcript containing what lawyer Nam Wook said to accountant Jeong Young-hak became an issue. In the transcript, Attorney Nam is recorded as saying, “Mr. Yoo (former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation Planning Director) Yoo Dong-gyu said, ‘It doesn’t matter what the method is, as long as there are no problems when viewed from the outside. ○○○ I will do whatever you (Nam-wook) decide.'”
Regarding the ‘○○○’ part, Attorney Nam explained at the trial that it means, ‘Wirye New Town will do everything you decide.’ However, the prosecution countered that this part was saying, ‘The elders above will do whatever you decide.’ It has been claimed that the expression ‘elders’ also refers to President Lee and Jeong Jin-sang, former head of the political affairs coordination office of the Democratic Party of Korea.
