Before the start of the 21st season of “Germany’s Next Top Model,” ProSieben released a detailed trailer for the new episodes. In it you can see Leni Klum, host Heidi Klum’s eldest daughter, sitting on the jury chair several times – and even announcing decisions. Now the presenter has revealed what’s behind it.

“Unfortunately I don’t have a photo for you today,” said Leni Klum in a clip of compilations that the station showed before the casting show started this Wednesday evening. Or also: “I think you’re gonna make it very far.” As Klum explained in an interview with “Bild”, her daughter had to represent her.

The 52-year-old explained specifically: “I had food poisoning. Nothing was working for me anymore. But I didn’t want to cancel the shoot completely. The only person who could represent me was my daughter Leni.”

She did it “really well,” emphasized Heidi Klum and said: “I love her charming German pronunciation.” 21-year-old Leni, who also works as a model, is also a guest judge in the new GNTM season.

“Germany’s Next Top Model” starts on Wednesday, February 11th with the broadcast of the open castings for men Köln. The next day, on Thursday, it’s the women’s turn.
